Facelift and Age
Are you interested in undergoing a facelift procedure, but not sure if you’re the right age to get it done?
Your age may not be as much of a factor as you think it is; read on to find out how age plays a role in a facelift procedure, and the signs you should be paying attention to if you’re curious about getting a facelift done.
The Best Age for a Facelift
There’s no one right age for a facelift, so if you think you might be a candidate now, don’t let your age hold you back from requesting that consultation. However, most patients tend to get their facelifts done between the ages of 45 and 65 when skin sagging and wrinkles start to become more prominent.
There is a small caveat associated with age and the desire to get a facelift done. At some point, candidates “age out” of the facelift procedure, as their skin sagging may be too severe to be corrected with a facelift. These are rare cases, but they do happen – that’s why we recommend scheduling a facelift consultation to see if you’re a good candidate.
Signs You May Be Ready for a Facelift
Now that you know that age isn’t the defining factor for getting a facelift, how do you know if you are ready to have one?
- You have moderate skin sagging, and it’s most noticeable in your cheeks and your jawline
- You have moderate to severe wrinkles and fine lines
- You have poor skin laxity
- You are a healthy person with realistic expectations for your procedure
