Thermiva
Thermiva Procedure
Childbirth, aging, or a change in hormones can cause the vaginal muscles to loosen or relax. THERMIva is a non-surgical procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to heat and tightens the vaginal muscles, improving the appearance of the vagina, sexual activity, and incontinence.
During a THERMIva procedure, a handheld device is used on the desired treatment area – typically the external labia and internal vaginal wall. Heat slowly builds and the device is moved in a circular or sweeping motion over the treatment area. The heat shrinks tissue and tightens muscles while promoting collagen production. A complete THERMIva treatment includes three separate treatments over the course of three months.
Thermiva Recovery
Because THERMIva is a non-surgical procedure, there is no downtime. Patients may immediately return to work and normal activities, including sexual intercourse. Because tissue tightening and collagen production is a gradual procedure, patients typically see some results after the first treatment, with full results developing after subsequent treatments and over the next several months.
Thermiva Candidates
Women of any age with vaginal laxity, vaginal dryness, stress incontinence, or sexual dysfunction are candidates for THERMIva. THERMIva is a non-surgical procedure that tightens and shrinks the tissue in the vagina. It is a non-invasive and painless way to relieve certain gynecological symptoms and conditions and improve sexual function.
Results last approximately 9-12 months and many patients choose to undergo a touch-up once a year.
The entire procedure takes about an hour.
Individuals can participate in normal activities before the procedure. Normal pap within last 2 years.
